Kara is an occupational therapist and international board certified lactation consultant. She is proud to serve her community with an outpatient lactation clinic in southeast Texas.

New Baby Support Services offers comprehensive prenatal and pre-adoption consultations and classes to help parents learn what to expect when planning for a new baby. In-person and virtual support including lactation (latching and pumping), postpartum recovery, babywearing, and infant sleep education is available for when baby arrives by birth, surrogacy, or adoption. All in-person lactation support includes infant oral and feeding assessment, an individualized care plan, and follow-up support to help parents meet their lactation goals. Office is conveniently located on Main Street in Ames and home visits are available in Central Iowa.

My name is Karyn (Car-in) and I have been a pediatric occupational therapist since 2010. In working with many families over the years, I have realized two things; one, that eating and family meal time is a huge part of our daily lives which creates connection to those around us, and two, as a mom of a picky eater, my love for exploring, enjoying, and sharing a balance of tasty and nutritious food and meal times continues to grow. These two areas combined led me to specialize in feeding therapy, in order to help families feel more comfortable, connected, and successful with meal time in their home and the community. I have taken many courses to further educate myself in learning about sensory and oral motor difficulties, tethered oral tissues (TOTs), breast and bottle feeding in infants, food progression, and overall pediatric feeding difficulties. I also enjoy collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure that I am working with all disciplines of a child's team.

At Ivy Rehab for Kids, we provide pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to meet the rehabilitation needs of our young patients, their physicians, and their parents. We go above and beyond when it comes to the treatment of our young patients, including offering virtual telehealth appointments and in-home therapy services. I’m Kate Manusos, a registered nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I currently support families during their inpatient stay at a local hospital and provide in-home consultations in the western suburbs of Chicago. Seeking new learning opportunities and staying updated on best practices in the lactation community is important to me as there is always space to grow.

I previously practiced as bedside RN for ten years in a Chicago Neonatal ICU - eight of those as a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor. Having a newborn in the NICU is undoubtedly one of the scariest experiences for a new family, but my favorite part of my time there was helping a parent bond with their baby. If they wanted to breastfeed - I was going to find a way to safely support them!

Early in my breastfeeding journey, I felt like no one was really listening to me and understood how much I was struggling. These experiences shaped my approach: listening to and acknowledging your experience and goals. Your breastfeeding journey is unique to you, and my hope is to give you the strength and confidence to see that you are doing an amazing job for your baby and family.

MarvelMyo & Speech Therapy serves patients of all ages with disorders of speech and language, feeding, and OroMyofunctional. We offer in-person evaluations through Dallas-Fort Worth and Teletherapy sessions.

Katherine E. Vo, DDS is a pediatric dentist, Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and has completed training in the TOT's course as well as a graduate of the Tongue-Tied Academy. She is a member of the American Laser Study Club and utilizes the Solea laser for frenectomies as well as restorative dental care.

Katie Carney has 10 years experience working as a speech pathologist. Katie has received specialized training in pediatric feeding disorders, tethered oral tissues and orofacial myology. Katie provides in-home therapy for children from infancy through age 21.
