Dr. Ann Bynum

I'm Dr. Ann Bynum, a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and the founder of The TOT Spot of South Carolina, a treatment center dedicated entirely to the diagnosis and CO2 laser release of tethered oral tissues in infants, toddlers, and children.

I've been performing frenectomies since 2014, and what started as an extension of my pediatric dental practice has grown into a space where families can find real answers and real relief. I'm supported by an incredible team of women who pour their hearts into caring for every family that walks through our doors.

Using a CO2 laser, I'm able to perform precise, minimally invasive releases that are quick and gentle, with less discomfort and faster healing than traditional methods. I work closely with lactation consultants, speech-language pathologists, and other providers to make sure each child gets the comprehensive whole-body support they need to thrive.

Beyond patient care, I'm passionate about advancing access to quality frenectomy treatment nationwide. I regularly speak and train providers across the country in evidence-based CO2 laser techniques. I'm honored to be a 2026 recipient of the Kumar Patel Prize in Laser Surgery, awarded by the American Laser Study Club in recognition of leadership in pediatric CO2 laser-assisted frenectomy education.
